The certificate for Walter Parkhurst, John Okey’s Regiment of Dragoons, 5 March 1649

Theis are to Certifie that Walter Parkhurst this bearer, (beinge dragooner in the Troope of Captaine John Farmer in my Regiment) Att a Skirmish with Collonell Gorings forces at Illmore neere Lamport in Somersettshire (Where my selfe was dangerously engaged and where alsoe Maior Generall Massye Commaunded that p[ar]tye) hee the said Parkhurst was desperately wounded in the Grine with a Tucke and alsoe in the left hippe to the danger of his life w[hi]ch wounds hee received in the present service of the Parliam[en]t: and lay vnder Cure about a moneth together at Burrow hill neere Bridgwater: All w[hi]ch I Certifie at the request of the said Walter Parkhurst and leaue the same to Considerac[i]on.
