Wee whose names are hereunto subscribed Inhabitants of the parish of Bridestowe within menc[i]oned doe Certifie your hono[u]rs that the within named Thomas Prest your poor Petitioner by Reason of the wounds and hurts he Received in his Majesties service King Charles the First of Blessed memory is soe much disabled in his body that he cannot get a Livelihood for himselfe and his poor Family as Formerly he hath done by Reason of w[hi]ch he has been of late chargeable to our said parrish Witness our hands the Two & Twentieth day of June Anno R[egni] R[e]gi[u]s Nunc Angliae &c Tertio Annoq[ue] Domi[n]i 1687.
