These are to Certifie yt Robert Landman of Burlescom in ye Countie of Devon formerlie served his Ma[jes]tie of Blessed Memori Charles ye Fyrst heere in all this unhappie warrs in England under ye Command of Leftennant Collonell Woodly in ye Reigment of Sir John Berkely & was faythfull in ye s[ai]d servise never known to waver in ye Lest; but Continued stedfast to ye end; but nowe by Reason of divers wounds Received in ye s[ai]d servise & of Certain hoales in his Legg; doeth soe weaken yo[u]r petition[e]r, yt hee is in noe way able to gett his Maintainance; & all though yo[u]r Hownors weare pleased to thinke of him of fourti shyllings pensyon yearly yet Remains a verie poore man & at this present a Meere obiect of Charitie.

Hee humblie desyrs yo[u]r Hon[o]rs yt there may bee some addition to ye former; or which way it shall seeme best in yo[u]r wisdom; & hee shall bee ever bound to pray &c
