These are to Certifie your worships whome this may Concerne that Robert Cooke of our Parrish of Lidford hath alwayes bin a Loyall Subiect vnto his Ma[jes]tie & did beare Armes for our Sou[er]aigne Lord King Charles the first under the Comand of Capt[ain] Bidlake dureing the tyme of warr here in England and was wounded then in the sayd warr: and now being growne old his hurt doth hinder him soe much that he is not able to gett his maintenance and this wee Certifie vnto our knowledge witnes our hands here vnto this one & Twentieth day of September Anno dom[ini] 1683
