These are to Certifie whome it may Concern that the Bearer hereof Richard Heyes of Warburton in the Countie of Chester was a souldier and Troop[er] vnder Collonell Vere in his Ma[jes]ties service and was true and faithfull therein, and hath [illegible] Continued Faithful vnto his now Ma[jes]tie and was one that never Revoulted or turned to the Contrarie p[ar]ty and sustained not onelie great Losses, but alsoe was sore wounded: Given vnder my hand att Lightoakes the 9th daie of October 1662
