The certificate for Ralph Hassall of Minshull, Cheshire, 10 April 1662

These are to Certifie all whom it may concerne That Raph Hassall of Minshall in the Countie Palatine of Chester was listed & served as a Foot souldier vizt a Serieant of the Companie for & in the service of his late Ma[jes]tie of ever blessed memory in the yeare 1642 pr[e]sently after his Ma[jes]tie set vp his Royall Standard vnd[e]r Thomas Minshall Esq[uire], one of his Ma[jes]t[y’]s Captaines in the Regim[en]t of S[i]r Edward Fitton kn[igh]t deceased and was in his Ma[jes]t[y’]s service at Edghill battell, Branford, Bristow, & soe all other tyme afterwards as hee was Comanded vntill Oxford was taken & continually was very faithfull & loyall to his said late Ma[jes]t[y’]s service & hath suffered much for his loyaltie ever since & still is a fitt person in regard of his great sufferings, age & povertie to receive such allowance or gratuitie as may any way come to the disposic[i]on of any persons for Releife of distressed and suffering Loyalists, In testimony whereof wee have herevnto subscribed o[u]r hands the 10th day of Aprill Anno R[egni]R[egis] Caroli s[e]c[un]di nunc Angliae xxiiiith Annoq[ue] d[o]m[ini] 1662
