To the Right hono[u]rable ye Lord Hatton or S[i]r John Egerton ye present Treasurers for ye County aforesaid

Wheras att the General Sessions of ye peace held att Northampton for ye said County on Tuesday next after ye feast of Epiphany in ye thirty fourth year of ye Reign of ye now King; vpon ye Humble petition of Laurence Key of Irtlingborough in ye said County shewing that he was prest Aboue forty years since for ye kings Service in Scotland & hath since served his late Majestie in ye late wars: & had A pention of forty shillings p[er] anum granted him by that Court for his life but being seduced by his wife to turn Quaker his pention was suspended, but being now Convinced of his Error he hath Repaired Constantly to ye Church for fiue or six years last past, And therefore desireing that his said pention might be Revived & what Arreares thereof ye Court should think fitt to Allow; It was Refered to me to Examin ye Contents of ye said petition & to Allow him what yearly pention; & Arreares thereof as I should think fitt; These are therefore to Certifie that I haue Examined ye said petition; & also Receiued A Certificate from ye Parson & Church wardens of ye said town; of his Conformity And therefore doe think fitt to Allow him ye former pention of forty shillings yearly & also forty shillings of his Arreares In witness whereof I haue herunto sett my hand this 19th day of March in ye xxxv year of ye King that now is; An[no] d[o]m[ini] 1682.
