Wee his Ma[jes]ties Justices of Peace for the County of Deuon whose names are here subscribed doe Certifye that Henry Locke was imprest for A souldier out of the Parish of Northmolton: to serue his ma[jes]tie in that vnnaturall and vnhappy warre, betwixt the King and his Parliament, vnder the Commaund of Sir Edmond Fortescue, and in the sayd Warre received many Shotts and wounds in his body: of which hee is not yet Cured, nor never like to bee, and being a very aged man and haueing nothing wherewith to subsist is like to perish vnlesse you order that hee shall haue A Pension out of the Stocke for the maimed Souldiers of this County
