These are to Certifie that John Morton was a troop[er] in Collonell S[i]r Rob[ert] Pye his owne troope, vnder the Com[m]aund of his Ex[cellen]cie Thomas Lord Fairfax from the beginninge of the new Moddell, vntill the 5th of Januarye 1645: att which tyme he dep[ar]ted this life att Colmestocke in Devenshire: haueinge formerlye receiued diu[er]s desp[er]at wounds att Edgehill and Yorke Battell of which hee languished & died and left behind him the bearer hereof a verye poore Widdowe and 2 small Children.
