{We the} parishioners of Llanllechid and Llandegai whose names are [here]vnto subscribed doe Certifie [to our] knowledge, whom it doth concerne that David Thomas of the parishe of Llanllechid, hath beene a souldier out of the sayd paryshe pressed for the service of ye kinge Charles the first of Blessed memorie & hath served for many yeares in the warres vnder severall true Com[m]aunders then belonginge to his Ma[jes]ties & hath had and Receaued divers & greivous dangerous wounds in the sayd warres in severall parts of his body & is now become weake & sickly by the reason thereof. In wittnesse herevnto we have putt our hands &c.
