June 3d 1661.

Thes are with all requisite respect, to signify to thos {t}o whom this writing may come that Christopher Cleeter some time a Leiutenant of horse in S[i]r Humphry Benets Regiment did Ride in my owne troope without for the space of one yeare and a halfe during which time he behauid himselfe Loyally and stoutly that he was in diuerse fights where in which in some of which he receyued diuerse wounds whereby hee is disabled to follow his Calling or apply himselfe to any manuall Labour that hee remayned with mee vntill the Rendition of Oxford and that since that time hee hath euer remayned deuoted to his Maiestyes seruice which now is in testimony of which I haue set my hand and seale heerto
