The petition on behalf of the daughter of William Goose of Barnacre, Lancashire, 8 July 1651

And to all others whom it may Concerne, Whereas William Goose of Barinker Shooe=maker within the Parish of Garstange was lately imprest for a Souldier by virtue of the late Act for the service of Ireland, had a younge Girle aged aboute 5 yeares, who hath hithertoo beene honestly mainteyned by the sayd William Goose her Father through his industrie onely not haueing any reall or p[er]sonall Estate to releife himself and the sayd Infant but by his trade and hard labor; And whereas the sayd Will[ia]m Goose being now in the State service and left behinde hime the s[ai]d Orfant releifelesse of any meanes left by her Father (who hadd none) or any frends a kinn to her lyable by law to mainteyne her. In Considerac[i]on whereof it is the humble desire of wee whose names are subscribed that the sayd Child may by order bee mainteyned by the Parish according to Custome and Equitie. And wee as in dutie bound will ever pray; Certified vnder our hands the 8th day of July 1651.
