The petition on behalf of James Bradshawe of Culcheth, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1653

To the right wor[shipfu]ll the Justic[e]s of Peace and quoru[m] at this Sessions assembled
The humble petic[i]on of Ellice Greene of Culcheth.
Sheweth
That about 3 yea[rs] since Tho[mas] Bradshawe of Culcheth went into Ireland about the service of the p[ar]lem[en]t & lefte a younge chylde behind him the Mother beinge deade, since the petice[n]or hath kept the chyld having had eu[er]y yea[r] some releiffe from the Churchwardens and ou[er]seers of the poore, by order from this Courte, ready to bee shewed, but this yea[r] can gett none at all.
The petice[n]or prayeth that hee may have some order or warant, that the Churchwardens & overseers doe make speedy paym[en]t or them or some of them, take the Chyld from the petice[n]or soe that hee may bee discharged of the Chyld and place it wheare they please & the petice[n]or is contented to beare the lose & hee shall eu[e]r pray.
