To the Right Worshipffull the Jutice [sic.] off peace {and} Quorram For the Countie pallentyne of Lanc[aster]
The Humble peticcion of Henry Maire of Hutton
Sheweth
That your powre peticciner was a Solderes [sic.] in Corronall Chisnales Reggim[en]t vnder the Command off Mager Fermner Liftennant John Mawdsley and Insyne Hughe Warring Itt doeth apeare vnto vs that your powre peticiner was a very Honnest and good Frend to his Maggesties Laite Su[b]iect{s} and Frends and Especially to John Flitwood off Penwortham Esq[ui]r[e] and Edward Rawstorne govoner off the House of Letha{m} and other his Magesties Loyall Subiects in Mouing thire goods and Catteles For the saffitie off them.
Thireffore wee his officers to the Best of our knowledge do heareby Certiffye that hee Neiuer disserted his Magestie or his Blessed Fathers servise during the Laite tyme off Rebellion and vsurpacion and hath Receued noe pay as yet. But now want and Nesesitie infforce him to Moue For it
Thirfore wee doe heareby Recommend him as a parson Fit to Receaue a porson off pay as your good worshipts [sic.] thinketh Fiting For such a Loyal Subcects [sic.] to Receaue
