To the R[igh]t Wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ty[s] Justices of the peace for ye County Pallatine of Chester

The humble petition of William Winpany sheweth
<Sheweth>

That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r was a souldier in the service of King Charles the first of Blessed memory vnd[e]r the Comand of Capt[ain] Norton and since vnd[e]r the Comand of Cap[tain] Jo[hn] Marbury and hath alwayes carried himselfe as a true and Loyall Subject might to doe and that by reason of the said service is a Lamed decrepped person and hath not any thing to mainteyne himselfe and his poore Familey but is likely to want necessaries in his ould age vnless releived by yo[u]r wor[shi]pps:

Yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r therfore most humbly prayes that yow would bee pleased to Comiserate his sad and grave Condic[i]on a{nd} to allow him a Sallery for his future support {and] Manteynance as in yo[u]r discretion you {shall} thinke meete and hee as in duty bound {will ever} pray &c
