The petition of William Lloyd of Llanfair-is-Gaer, Carnarvonshire, 1660

To the right woor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace now sitting att the Quarter Sessions for the Cou[n]ty of Carn[ar]von.
The Humble pettition of William Lloyd of Llanvair Iscaer in the s[ai]d Cou[n]ty.
Humbly sheweth
That your pettitioner hath beene a souldier in his Late Ma[jes]ties seruice King Charles the first in Oxfford vnder the Com[m]and of Colonel Charrett who hath beene a prisoner in Carn[ar]von for a long tyme, And att Oxfford affores[ai]d your pettitioner hath beene shotte through his thigh, And dangerously cutt vpon the left arme soe that your pettioner is not able to worke by reason of the s[ai]d woundes and his age beinge Threescore & sixe yeare ould.
Now your pettitioners Humble request vnto your wor[shi]ppes is that your wor[shi]ppes wil be pleased to Comisserate his condic[i]on & to allowe him yearely out of the maimed souldiers mize what sum[m]e your worp[shi]ppes shall thinke fitt for his mainteinance he being a poore man & not able to worke for his liueing.
