To the Wor[shi]pffull Justices of the Peace assembled at the Gen[e]r[a]ll Sessions now sitting helden at Ivelchester the Twelfth day of Apr[i]ll 1659 for the County afforesaied
The Humbl request of William Ley of Gregory Stoake a wounded Souldier these
Humbly sheweth that yo[u]r poore Petienor serued the p[ar]liam[en]t actualy in Armes vnder the Com[man]d of Collo[nel] Rob[er]t Blake and in that Com[man]d hee was wounded in h one of his hands soe that hee by reason of w[hi]c[h] hee is disable[d] to Follow his calling to mayntaine himselfe or his wife and children
Yo[u]r Pettionors humble requeste is that yow the hono[u]r[a]bl[e] bench [w]ould bee pleased to take it into yo[u]r grave and wise considderation to allotte him som small p[ro]portion of money out of the tresury of the County p[ro]vided for that purpose to help him in his distresse
And yo[u]r Poore Pettionor shall pray
