The petition of William Leaver the elder of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, 18 July 1717

To the wor[shi]ppfull the Justices of the peace for the said County

William Leaver the elder aged 100 yeares or thereabouts haveing by yo[u]r wor[shi]pps favour rec[eive]d an annuall pension out of ye County stock and by his advanced age being vtterly vnable to help himselfe being quite blind.

Humbly prayes yo[u]r wor[shi]pps will please to augment his exhibition as yo[u]r wor[shi]pps in yo[u]r Charitable inclination shall thinke fitt

And yo[u]r Pet[itione]r shall ever pray &c.
