The petition of William John William of Gresford, Denbighshire, 6 October 1663

To the right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace of the countie of Denbigh.
The humble petic[i]on of William John William of the p[ar]ish of Gresford in the Cou[nty] afforesayd.
Sheweth to yo[u]r wor[shi]ps that yo[u]r petic[i]oner was a tru and faithfull souldier in his Ma[jes]t[y]s service in Armes vnder the Com[m]aund of Maior Manley where he received seu[er]all wounds visible upon his bodie w[hi]ch did quite disable him to gett his liueing and sustena[n]ce beinge a poore man now aged and impotente and not able to gett his liueinge as he hath form[er]ly bene, And that he neu[er] waved from his principles but Constantly a faithfull subiecte in all theis late troubles And is well known amongst his neighbours of lief & Conversac[i]on both Civill and honest of behaueuiour. Maye it therefore please yo[u]r wor[shi]ps to take his poore condic[i]on into yo[u]r Considerac[i]ons and to graunt him an yearely penc[i]on, and yo[u]r petic[i]o[ne]r will eu[er] pray &c.
