The petition of William Jackson, Thomas Whalley, and Henry Mawdesley, Lancashire, 25 April 1664

Right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of Peace & quor[um] at the Quarter Sessions holden at {Orm}skirke ye twenty fifth day of Aprill 1664.
The Petic[i]on of William Jackson, Thomas Whalley & Henry Mawdesley &c
Humbly sheweth
That yo[u]r wor[shi]pps Pet[itione]rs were souldiers for ye late kinge Charles of blessed memory duringe all ye late vnhappy warrs & euer loved to be loyall never desertinge his Ma[jes]ties seruice
That yo[u]r wor[shi]pps Pet[itione]rs certificates of our loyalty & indigency approved of & signed by ye Right wor[shi]p[fu]ll Sir Roger Bradslaigh & Henry Bannaster & John Entwisle Esq[ire]s Comm[issione]rs for indigent officers & sould[ie]rs ready to be Produced
That ye said Comm[issione]rs of their owne knowledge well vnderstandinge that yo[u]r wor[shipp]s Pet[itione]rs were ever loyall & are allsoe very indigent did Promise & assure yo[u]r Pet[itione]rs we should haue speedy pay.
That notwithstandinge yo[u]r Pet[itione]rs loyalty & ye said wor[shipfu]ll Comm[issione]rs Promises & approbason of our severall Certificates yet yo[u]r wor[shipp]s Pet[itione]rs haue not rec[eive]d our pay or any Parte therof.
May itt therfore Please yo[u]r good wor[shi]pps to order That yo[u]r wor[shi]pps Pet[itione]rs may haue our Pay without any more delay. And yo[u]r wor[shi]pps Pet[itione]rs as in duty bound shall ever pray &c.
