The petition of William Hussey of Wellington, Somerset, 19 July 1654

To ye ho[noura]ble Justices assembled this q[uar]t[er] Sessions xix of July 1654 at Taunton.
The humble petic[i]on of William Hussey of Wellington
Sheweth that whereas James Shattock of Wellington hath had 13 s. 4 d. quarterly p[er] ann[um] quarterly paid vnto him as a maimed soldier w[hi]ch Shattock is yet liveinge & in the servise of this Com[m]onweale in the Cittie of Limbrick in Ireland and whereas yo[u]r pet[itione]r to his greate Costs & Chardges (though poore of himself) kept & maintained one poore infant Male Child of ye said Shattock & doth continually maintaine and keepe the said Child
His humble desire is that the said 13 s. 4 d. may bee paid vnto your peticoner vntill such time as the said Child bee either bound out accordinge to ye law in such Case made or otherwise p[ro]vided for & hee shall praye &c.
Maior John Colborne of Wellington vnder whose Com[m]aund the said James Shattock was a sergeant Leivten[n]ant is ready to attest this petic[i]on
