The humble petition of W[illia]m Huntly of Alnwick
Sheweth
Whereas yo[u]r petition[e]r was did and of his owne free volantary will went vnder the Command of Charles Brandling Esq A Souldier: for the Service of our Soverigne Lord Charles the First of Blessed memory, and after vnder the Command of my Lord of Newcastle and was att many A dreadfull Battle one his Majesty behalf, yo[u]r Petition[e]r ventering his Life fortun[e] and whole Estate vpon the managem[en]t of his Majesty Concerne, w[hi]ch all the Gentery of the County most p[ar]te, that euer did know yo[u]r petition[e]r for y[ou]r petitioners good Service can Aferme the truth of the same, and now yo[u]r Petition[e]r being an ageed man vpwards of 80 yeares is Reduced into a very meane and Low Condition.
Most humbly prays that out of y[ou]r Bountifull goodness, yo[u]r petition[e]r being A very Loyall Subject will grant An Supply of A Little mony, to support yo[u]r Petition[e]r from perishing and for the same as in duty bound your Petition[e]r shall euer pray.
