The petition of William Gulford of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, Epiphany 1683

To his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the peace at the Q[uarte]r Sessions for the County of North[amp]ton[shire].
The Humble Petic[i]on of Will[ia]m Gulford of Wellingborow
Humbly Sheweth.
That yo[u]r poore petic[i]oner having formerly had a penc[i]on of Forty shillings p[er] ann[um] granted to him by yo[u]r Hon[ou]rs for his good Services by him done for his late Ma[jes]ty in his warrs was taken from him in Mr Reacies tyme of being Tre[asure]r:
May it therefore please yo[u]r Hon[ou]rs to Allow vnto yo[u]r poore peticoner his former penc[i]on or such or soe much as yo[u]r hon[ou]rs shall thinke fit hee being grown poore and Indigent.
And yo[u]r poore peticon[er] as in duty bound shall eu[e]r Pray &c.
<The Overseeres of the poore are to allowe him 12 d. p[er] wee[k] untill cause bee shewed to the contrary>
