The petition of William Gibbs of Bradninch, Devon, Michaelmas 1660

To the Right Honn[o]ra[ble] the Judge of the sessions & the rest the Humble Petition of W[illia]m Gibbs of Bradninch: Humbly sheweth:

That yo[u]r poore petticon[e]r was under the Command of Capt[ain] Peter Sainthill Esq[uir]e in his Ma[jes]t[ie]s Command & was hurt against Mount Radford & is unfit for his Calinge & imployment by Re[a]son of his hurt & is still one of his Ma[jes]t[ies] Subiects & never under any other Command untill this tyme, & hath lost three fingers in his left hand in the aforesaid service & doth desire to have a pinchinge [sic] out of the gaile & maimed soldi[er]s pay &c

& yo[u]r petit[ione]r will ever pray for yo[u]r healths &c.
