The petition of William Eyre, John Wilkinson, James Richardson, Daniel Allen, John Trosse and Rowland Robson, all of Doncaster, West Riding of Yorkshire, 31 March 1668

To the Hon[oura]ble his Ma[jes]t[ie]s Justices of the Peace assembled at the gen[er]all quarter Se[ss]ions held at Pontfract, the last day of March 1668.

The humble petic[i]on of William Eyre John Wilkinson James Richardson Daniell Allen John Trosse and Rowland Robson of Doncaster.

Humblie sheweth

That yo[u]r poore Petic[i]oners haveing bene souldiers for his late Ma[jes]tie of blessed memorie had (for their faithfull service) quarterlie Penc[i]ons allowed them, w[hi]ch penc[i]ons through the remisnes of the Burrow of Doncaster in not payeing in the money laid on the said Burrowe for lame souldiers, hath bene taken from them this whole yeare last past, so as yo[u]r poore petic[i]oners their wifes & Children are in great necessitie

May it therefore please this Hono[ura]ble Bench that yo[u]r petic[i]oners may be restored to their former Penc[i]ons, whereby their families may be releived, & themselues comforted & they (as in all humble dutie they are bound) shall ever pray &c.
