The petition of William Efford of Stoke Gabriel, Devon, 13 April 1676

To the Honerable his Ma[jes]ties Justices of the Peace att the Generall Sessions held for the County of Deuon att the Castle of Exon the 13th day of Aprill 1676

The Humble Peticion of William Efford of the p[ar]ish of Stokegebrill

Humbly sheweth

That whereas your Petitioner being a souldier vnder Col[one]l Wentworth in King Charles the Firsts time againest the Inuesion of the Scotts was therein wounded and afterwards did serue seuerall yeares a souldier in S[i]r Henery Carys Regement vnder the Command of Capptin Shepheard as a Sergent: by meanes of his Long Marches & Wounds hath Rendered him Self vncapabele of Getting his Liuelihood as before desires the Fauor which hath beene Granted to other p[er]sons in the Like Condition by this this Court by Giueing him an Annuall Pencion out of the County Stocke

And your Petticioner shall Euer pray
