The humble petic[i]on of Will[ia]m Dawson of Pilkington, Hugh Dawson, James Dawson, Gyles Dawson, William Read, Richard Romsbotham all of Pilkington afores[ai]d,

<Sheweth>

That yo[u]r petic[i]oners have ever beene faithfull & loyall Subiects & served his Ma[jes]tie that now is & Royall father in the late warrs & have never diserted their service and have all of them beene dangerously wounded & maymed & are thereby rend[e]r[e]d vnable to worke to get their liveing [illegible] That yo[u]r petic[i]oners have but a small penc[i]on of ten shillings a peece allowed, litle compitent to reward theire faithfull service

That there are seu[e]rall poore maymed Souldiers are lately dead out of Pilkington whose penc[i]ons amonted vnto three pounds ten shillings: Yo[u]r petic[i]oners humbly pray yo[u]r wor[shi]pps to consider theire poore Condic[i]on & allow vnto them such further Augmentac[i]on as in yo[u]r discretion yow shall thinck fitt
