The humble petic[i]on of William Cowper, Peter Smith no hands, Nathaniell Church and Abell Hindersby

Most humbly shewinge that your pet[itione]rs were Souldyers and served in their warrs vnder yo[u]r hon[ou]r and beinge wounded and some of them maymed and dismembred are now poore patients in Bartholomews hospitall and are in great payne distresse and misery & vtterly disabled and vndon for ever,

Humbly beseechinge yo[u]r Lo[rdshi]pp, in regard they have willingly ventred their lyves and deerest blood vnder yo[u]r hono[u]r in theis warrs to the losse of their lymbs and members for maynteynance of Gods Cause And in regard their wante and miseryes are very great, That yo[u]r Hono[u]r will be pleased to afford them some Considerable pay for their succo[u]rs helpe and comfort in this tyme of their distresse and misery, And as in duty bound they will all dayly praye for yo[u]r hono[u]r.
