To the Right wo[rshi]p[fu]ll his Ma[jes]tys Justices of the peace for the County Pallatine of Chester

The humble Petic[i]on of William Bolton

<Humbly sheweth>

That yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r was alwayes a true and Loyall subject to his late Ma[jes]ty of blessed memory and was a souldier for him vnder my Lord Byron his Com[m]and att Leverpoole & also att Namptwich and seuerall other places in his said Ma[jes]tys service and was there att Chester shot and Maymed and thereby hee hath since that tyme liued a poore and miserable life not beeing able to mainteine his wife and Children and is they are likely to starve vnless releived by yo[u]r wor[shi]pps

Yo[u]r poore petic[i]on[e]r therefore humbly prayes that yo[u]r wor[shi]pps would bee pleased to Comiserate his Condic[i]on and to allow him a pention out of the Treasury of this County as yo[u]r wor[shi]pps shall thinke meete and yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]r as in duety bound shall ever pray &c
