The petition of William Bennyon of Towcester, Northamptonshire, Easter 1662

To the hon[oura]ble & Wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace Assembled at ye quarter Sessions at North[amp]ton.
The humble Petic[i]on of William Bennyon of Towcester
Sheweth
That your Petitioner, hath bene a Soldier in ye Army of his late Ma[jes]ty King Charles the First of blessed memory & none other by ye space of Nine years or thereabouts in the Regiment of Colonell Gibson at Mars[t]on moore, Nantwich, Liverpoole and other places where he lost one of his Eyes and was grieuously Wounded in ye Backe from whence was taken Forraeteen bones and splinters & receiued divers divers other Wounds and hurts in his Thighes & other places the Scarres whereof are yet visible in his body.
Humblie therefore prayeth That your Petitioner may have such pension and allowance for his said seruice and future subsistence as your Wisdomes shall iudge meet and expedient. And your Petitioner as in duty bound shall always Praye &tc.
