The petition of Trooper John Pine, Richard Graves’s Regiment, 7 June 1648

To ye right Hono[ura]ble ye Com[m]ittee for the Army.
ye humble petic[i]on of John Pine al[ia]s Brisan Troop[er] in Adiutant Gen[era]ll Flem[m]yngs Troope.
Sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r was souldier in Adiutant Gen[era]ll Flem[m]yngs Troope in Col[one]l Graues his Reg[imen]t in ye Army vnder the Lord Fairfax as appeareth by Certificate vnder the hand of L[ieutenan]t Euerard L[ieutenan]t to ye said Troope in w[hi]ch service yo[u]r pet[itione]r rec[eive]d a shott in his Arme by w[hi]ch he hath lost ye vse of it & is thereby become vncapable of any further service as p[er] Certificate vnder his Ex[cellen]cies hand may appeare.
Now forasmuch as yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath some small arreares of pay due to him for his service & being a stranger of another Nation desireth to returne home being here quite destitute of any friends to releiue his Necessities beseecheth yo[u]r Hono[u]rs Order for paym[en]t of his arreares.
And he shall pray &c.

<That ye Com[m]issary Generall of ye Musters or his Deputy doe forthwith certify to this Com[m]ittee how the pet[itione]r stands vpon the seu[er]all Musters of ye Army & doe affix the same to the petic[i]on.>
