The petition of Trooper James Pearson, John Butler’s Regiment, 19 September 1648

To ye right hono[ura]ble ye Com[m]ittee for ye Army
The humble petic[i]on of James Pearson troop[er]
Sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r hath faithfully serued the parl[iamen]t as troop[er] in Capt[ain] Foleys Troope in Col[one]l Butlers now Col[one]l Hortons Regiment in the Army of his Ex[cellen]cie ye Lord Fairfax for the space of two yeares & more, in w[hi]ch service he was desp[er]ately wounded & hath lost the vse of his limbes att Naseby fight as by Certificates vnder the said Capt[ain]s Hand & Mr Dunns his Surgeon, doth appeare, being disabled from further service.
Yo[u]r pet[itione]r haueing a great charge of Children to mayntayne & nothing to subsist on, most humbly imploreth yo[u]r hono[u]rs compassion towards him, in ordering the stateing & paying of his arreares
And he shall pray &c.
Att ye Com[m]ittee of Lords & Com[m]ons for the Army 19th Septemb[er] 1648
Ordered
That ye Com[missa]ry Gen[era]ll of ye Musters or his Deputy doe forthwith certify this Com[m]ittee how the pet[itione]r stands vpon ye seu[er]all Musters of the Army & doe affix ye same to this petic[i]on

<His musters are alrea already Certified as one of the supernumaries of that troope querie if not retourned from the treasarie and in Mr Snows hands for that they were neuer disbanded>
