To the wor[shipfu]l Justic[e]s of Peace and quor[um] for the County of Lancaster

The humble petic[i]on of Thomas Stansfeild a maymed soldier

Humbly sheweth

That yo[u]r peticion[e]r hath by reason of his lamenes Indured a great deale of hardship: and hath had noethinge to support hymselue w[i]thall but onely one horse who is vnder arest For satisfacion of money w[hi]ch yo[u]r peticioner p[ro]mised to pay For hay to keepe his horse of the ensueing winter & if noe course bee taken to releefe yo[u]r peticion[e]r acordinge to Ordinance of Parl[iamen]t & order of Assizes yo[u]r peticio[ne]r his wiffe & Child is likely to starue:

Yo[u]r peticion[e]rs request is that yo[u]r wor[shi]ps wold bee pleased to giue directions to the treasurer (as any other intrusted For releefe of maymed soldiers) to pay the assessments alowed to soldiers of the like Condicion & yo[u]r peticion[e]r as in duty bound will euer pray For yo[u]r health & hapines
