To the Right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of peace & Quor[um] assembled at Preston Sess[ions] Apr[il] 1659

The humble petic[i]on of Tho[mas] Ridley & Wilson poore maymed soldiers

Sheweth that aboute two yeares agoe yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs petic[i]oned the Justices of peace at the Sheriffes table at Lanc[aste]r for there penc[i]ons & the arreares thereof who therevpon were pleased in respect there were but few penc[i]on[e]rs liveng one yeare Tax should bee allowed & gathered for & payed to Capt[ain] Whitehead who was appointed treasurer for maymed soldiers & that he should pay the arreares & penc[i]on soe far as it would extend w[hi]ch accordingly he did [illegible] pay what then due & there are yet remaineing in his hands p[ar]t of the said tax & there beeing noe pentic[i]on[e]rs liveing but yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs prayes that they may bee payed for the yeare last past out of the said tax remaineing in his hands & yo[u]r petic[i]on[e]rs will ever pray &c.
