The petition of Thomas Rawson of Aughton, Lancashire, 16 July 1666
To the Right Wor[shi]pfull his Ma[jes]tie[s] Justice of Peace and Quorr[um] assembled at Orm[skir]ke this 16th July 1666.
The humble Petic[i]on of Thomas Rawson of Aughton
<Sheweth>
That whereas yo[u]r Petic[i]oner the Fower and twentieth day of February in the Fifteenth yeare of his Ma[jes]ties Raigne that now is, had a Certificate vnder the hand of Richard Masseye Major, that hee has beene in many services and that hee was ever Faithfull both in his late Ma[jes]ties and his Ma[jes]ties that now is, And that the said Certificate was signed and allowed of vnder the hands of Thomas Norras and John Entwisle Esq[ui]r[e]s to bee [?rist] And as yet yo[u]r Petic[i]oner had never any Penc[i]on allowed him notwithstanding all his Loyaltie, And their Confirmac[i]on of the same.
The pr[e]misses Considered yo[u]r Petic[i]oner prayes being a very poore man and in regard of his sufferings in the late troubles and of his Royaltie is brought into great poverty And beinge old and infirme in body and estate humbly desires that yo[u]r Petic[i]oner may haue a Penc[i]on allowed him amongst the rest of the Royalist: for and [illegible] towards his suport and stay of Livelyhood And yo[u]r Petic[i]oner as in duty bound will ever pray &c.
