The petition of Thomas Price of Mold, Flintshire, 12 July 1660

To the Kings most Excellent Maiesty.
The humble petic[i]on of Thomas Price Bachelor in Diuinity and Chaplaine to the late Lord Wilmot
humbly sheweth
That your Peticoner (having lost his means and estate and endured much hardshippe by long imprisonment in your Kingdome of Ireland in the late rebellion there for his loyalty and constancy to the protestant religion and the cause then in hand your poore suppliant came ouer into England Chaplaine to S[i]r Robert Birons Regiment, where vpon surrender of Liuerpoole he was also imprisoned and endured much misery for a long time hauing receaved some wounds in that expedition.
That for some yeares past he hath had some small subsistance in the parish of Mould and Diocese of St. Asaph where he hath constantly preached the word of God and liued conformable to the Rules and Liturgie of the Church of England.
Humbly prayes that your Majesty wil be gratiously pleased to conferre and bestow vpon him the Rectory or parsonage of Llanyfidd in the Diocese of St. Asaph in the County of Flint being about 40 li. p[er] annu[m] and now void by the death of Doctor Arskin last incumbent there And to giue Order for the preparing of a bill ready for your Maiestyes signature.
And your supplyant shall euer pray for your Ma[jes]ties long & happie raigne ouer vs.
<I am informed by persons of very good credit yt ye suggestions in ye petition are most true & yt ye petitioner is very capable of his Ma[jes]ties favour, in w[hic]h he desires.>
