The Humble petic[i]on of Thomas Price of this Cittie

Humblie Sheweth that yo[u]r peticon[e]r havinge been twice prest out of this cittie for his late Ma[jes]ties service Kinge Charles ye First of ever blessed memorie of England &c for Scotland, in w[hi]ch warrs hee served, and afterwards served Fifteene yeres a soldier in the warrs vnder his said Ma[jes]tie w[i]th in this Realme, and never revolted or turned his loyalty from his First principles, in w[hi]ch service he received many wounds and hurts

Now soe it is and please yo[u]r wor[shi]ps that yo[u]r pet[itioner] beinge growne aged and ympotent in his limbes and havinge nothinge to maineteine hym but that it hath pleased yo[u]r good wor[shi]ps to bestowe this small office of beadleshipp vpon me w[hi]ch gaine is but small to relieve yo[u]r peticon[e]r and poorr familie.

Soe yo[u]r poore peticon[e]rs humble prayer is that in respect of his service and loyaltie to his Ma[jes]tie to take into yo[u]r wor[shi]ps considerac[i]ons and that you wil be pleased to admitt and allowe yo[u]r poore peticon[e]r some yerely penc[i]on out of the treasury to helpe to relieve yo[u]r peticon[e]r in this his old age and ympotencie as to yo[u]r wor[shi]ps shal be thought Fitt

And yo[u]r peticon[e]r accordinge duetie shall ever bee bound to pray for yo[u]r wor[shi]ps encrease of health and happinesse.
