The petition of Thomas Petchy of Blackmore, Essex, Epiphany 1678

The Humble Petition of Thomas Petchy to the hon[oura]ble Bench.

Humbly sheweth

That whereas y[ou]r poor Petitioner, hath in times past bin emploied in his Ma[jes]ties service at the siege of Colchester enduring all the siege, vnder the Com[m]and of Major Smith, & endured in that service great deale of hardship; & since that, is much reduced to poverty & extreame want in his old age, not being able to maintaine hims[elf] & his family, y[ou]r Poore Petitio[ne]r humbly begs, y[ou]r Worships would be pleased to Consider him so farr in affording him some reliefe or supplye, as to y[ou]r Worships prudent care & wisdom shall seeme meet & Convenient; And y[ou]r Petitio[ne]r shall allwaies pray for y[ou]r w[orshi]ps good Estate long to Continue.
