The petition of Thomas Newson of Towcester, Northamptonshire, Easter 1662

To the hono[ura]ble the Justices assembled att the generall Quarter Sessions holden for the County of North[amp]ton[shire]:

The humble petic[i]on of Thomas Newson:

<Sheweth> That yo[u]r petic[i]oner all along in the late warres did serve the late Kinge Charles of Blessed memory vnder the Com[m]and of the Right hono[urab]le James Earle of North[amp]ton & in the s[ai]d service was wounded as by the Certificate herevnto annexed may appeare; & by reason of the s[ai]d wounds is disabled for workeing in his calling {Illegible} heretofore hee vsed & hereby himselfe & family is reduced to greate penury & want:

Hee therefore humbly prayes that hee may have the Order of this hono[ura]ble Co[u]rt for a pension to bee payd him towards his releife & yo[u]r petic[i]oner shall pray:

xx s. p[er] ann[um] quarterly out of the west division and dismissed the next sessions
