Too ye Right Hon[ou]rable S[i]r Thomas Carew Knight one of his Ma[jes]ties Justices of ye peace for ye County of Deuon with ye others the Justices of ye same
The humble peti[ti]on of Thomas Moore of the parrish of topsham in ye county of Deuon
<In> all humillity most hvmbly Sheweth vnto your Wor[shi]ps that your poore petion[e]r hath ever beene a loyall subiect too his Ma[jes]tie King Charells ye First of euer blessed Memmory and your petion[e]r wase in actuall seruise in ye Reigm[en]t off ye Hon[ou]r[a]ble S[i]r Edward Seamor Knight and Barronet vnder ye Command of Leftennant Collonell Nicholas Cuddrinton Robert Conway Gent[leman] then Leftennant of ye sayd Companye in the which seruise yo[u]r poore petion[e]r Remained for ye Space of two yeares and halfe ore upward and never Revolted but by reason of hardshipp hee then Indvred in ye sayd seruise is now in his Ancient yeares become almost decripped in his Limbs
Hee theirfore in all humillity doth humbly beseech y[ou]r Wor[shi]pps that in Charity you would bee gratiously bee pleased too Consider y[ou]r petion[e]rs great pouerty yt now hee is in by ordering him too bee one of his Ma[jes]ties poore pention[e]rs too receiue some small Asistance as your good Wor[shi]pps shall thinke fitt for ye which as in Duty bound hee shall euer praye
