The petition of Thomas Martyn of Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, Michaelmas 1678

To ye Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the Peace for the County of Wiltes[hire] att this pr[e]sent Quarter Sessions assembled
The humble Petic[i]on of Thomas Martyn of Great Bedwyn in this County Laborer
Whoe humbly sheweth
That yo[u]r pet[itione]r for seu[er]all yeares past hath byn admitted a pentioner of this County and hath byn duely payd the sume of Twenty shillings p[e]r Annu[m]. But for that yo[u]r pet[itione]r was not att the last review of the Penc[i]oners of this County of w[hi]ch yo[u]r pet[itione]r had noe notice Yo[u]r pet[itione]r was left out of the new list of the s[ai]d Penc[i]oners as y[ou]r pet[itione]r is informed And therevpon the Treasurer doth refuse to pay yo[u]r pet[itione]r any more
Wherefore yo[u]r pet[itione]r doth humbly pray yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps in reguard of yo[u]r pet[itione]rs extreame poverty & necessity to give order that yo[u]r pet[itione]rs name may be inserted into the list of Penc[i]oners & that yo[u]r pet[itione]r may be payd as form[er]ly And yo[u]r pet[itione]r shall alwayes pray &c
