The petition of Thomas Lloyd of Llanraeadr, Denbighshire, 8 October 1667

To the Right Wo[rshipfu]ll the Kings Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the peace att this present Generall Sessions

The humble petic[i]on of Thomas Lloyd a press[e]d souldier out of the pa[r]ishe of Llanrhayeder in the tyme of the late warr.

Shewinge yo[u]r wors[hi]ps that yo[u]r petic[i]oner hath served [illegible] In his late Ma[jes]t[y]s service for the space of five yeares vnder the Comaunde of S[i]r Evan Lloyd, Bevis Lloyd, esq[ui]r[e], & Maior Jo[h]n Doulben, & hath suffered longe imprisonm[en]t & seu[e]rall wounds in his body to yo[u]r petic[i]oners vtter disablinge to earne his liveinge for all his torments and imprisonment yo[u]r peticoner hath neuer revolted but still continued true & faithfull to his Ma[jes]ty and Comaunders, And alsoe further Sheweth that yo[u]r petic[i]oner hath presented this ho[nou]r[a]ble Cort longe agoe with a petic[i]on vnder the hands of S[i]r Evan Lloyd, Bevis Lloyd Esq[ui]r[e] and tweantie honest & sufficient men more, [illegible] certiefieinge my his loyaltie, fidelity, & service & sufferings in that tyme of warr. W[hi]ch petic[i]on was deliu[e]red in open quarter sessions & Read in Cort, and beinge taken to Considerac[i]on yo[u]r petic[i]oner was then admitted to take & receave a pension of five shillings a quarter [illegible] to bee payd out of the Maymed souldiers mize w[hi]ch petic[i]on & order therevpon was filed upon record of this Cort. Neuerthelesse notwithstandinge yo[u]r pet[tione]rs admittance the petic[i]on fild yo[u]r pet[ition]er never receved pay as by the l[ette]r hearewith annexed with appe[ar]

Most humblie praying yo[u]r wor[shi]ps order hearin as by the annexed l[ett]re is required and that yo[u]r pet[itione]r may have some accompt for the tyme past he haveinge often demaunded the same & an order to receave his allowaunce for the future

And yo[u]r petic[i]oner will eu[er] as in boundne [sic.] duetie praye &c.
