The petition of Thomas Kilborne, Isle of Ely, 1662

To the Right Worshipfull the Justices of the peace withing the Isle of Ely

The humble Petic[i]on of Thomas Kilborne of Elye in the Countye of Cambridge.

Humblye Sheweth

That Your Petic[i]oner dureing the Tyme of the Late Rebellion From the beginninge thereof untill the defeat given at Winchester to his Ma[jes]ties Forces did for the defence of his Said Sacred Ma[jes]ties person his Crowne and dignities, with manie hazards venture his Lyfe in his Lyfe in his Said Ma[jes]ties Service and in that Service he Continued Faithfull and Loyall and Soe hath done euer Since and hath not diserted the Service by takeing up armes Against his Said Ma[jes]tie or his Ma[jes]tie that now is or Otherwise.

That your Petic[i]oner by Reason of his wounds and distempers which he got and his Imprisonmente and other great Losses which he received in the Said Service is altogether uncapable of gittinge A liueliehood For himselfe and Famile hee not haueinge Sufficient of his Owne to Support him and them.

The Petic[i]oner therefore humbly beseecheth your Worships to graunt him Such A yearelye pension Towards his Future Releife and Liueliehood as to your Worships shall Seeme meet.

And your Petic[i]oner as in dutie bound shall dayly pray For your Worships &c.
