The petition of Thomas Deane of Bollinfee, Cheshire, 17 January 1654

To the Ho[noura]ble the Justices of peace at the Quarter Sessions houlden at Chester the 17th daye of January 1653.

The humb[l]e petic[i]on of Thomas Deane of Bollen Fee husbandman.

Sheweth vnto yo[u]r hono[u]rs

That wheras yo[u]r petic[i]o[ne]r being a maymed souldier who lost the vse of his hand (as maye appear) at the reducing of this Citye of Chester, to the vtter vndoing & overthrowe of his himselfe his wiefe & chilldren Not haveing Allowance forth of this county for & towards his support & Maynteaynce (if it might bee truly payd in) For wante therof yo[u]r said poore petic[i]oner is Arreare the soms of Fourty shillings w[hi]ch should haue beene payd him by Trea[sure]r Hilton when hee was Trea[sure]r for the paym[en]t therof, yet still is kept back & hath not rec[eived] any of it yett

Maye it therfore please yo[u]r hon[ou]rs to take the pr[e]misses herof into yo[u]r good & graue Considerac[i]ons so that you will appoint & that yo[u]r said poore petic[i]on[e]r maye haue his said Arreares of Fourty shillings & of whom hee may rec[eive] the same And yo[u]r said poore petic[i]o[ne]r will evermore praye for yo[u]r healthes & p[ro]speritye
