The petition of Thomas Darwall of Halton, Cheshire, 11 October 1653

To the Right w[o]r[shipfu]ll ye Justices of ye peace for this Countie at their Quarter Sessions of the peace houlden at Nether Knotsford the 11th of October 1653:
The humble Petic[i]on of Thomas Darwall of Halton in the Countie aforesaid Chirurgeon
Sheweth:
That yo[u]r petic[i]oner was commanded to serve as Chirurgion in the Regiment of Colonell Henry Brooke in the late Ingagement at Worcester where hee had the charge of many wounded Soldiers w[hi]ch by the blessing of god vppon his indeavours, and by his care and Industrie therein he cured those yt were curable That yo[u]r petic[i]oner had divers of the said maimed Soldiers after his returne from Worcester at his owne house and was Ocasioned to greate expence for necessaries for them in their Quarters, besides yo[u]r petic[i]oner hath much due to him, for Quarters in Areare in the former wars, dureing the time the Siege was before Halton Castle

Yo[u]r petic[i]oner humbly prayes yo[u]r w[o]r[shi]ps will be pleased to take the pr[e]mises into yo[u]r considerac[i]o[n] and to aford him such releefe herein as in yo[u]r wise Judgm[en]ts shall bee thought fitt, and yo[u]r petic[i]o[ne]r will ever as in dutie praye:
