The petition of the widows, maimed soldiers and orphans of Mottram, Cheshire, Michaelmas 1658

To the right worshipp[fu]ll the Justices of the peace for the County Chest[e]r [sic.]
the humble Petition of the Petitioners [sic.] in Mottram parish Humbly sheweth that the Pentioners are all Liveinge videllic: Widow Booth widow Heape Widow Kindor Widow Wagstaffe widow Bradley widow Wolley Thomas Bredburie Ellice Collyor Garrard Collyor;
Wee Humbly intreate your good worshipps that these poore peti[t]ion[e]rs may have theire allowance as formerly whereas there is in areare behinde due to vs one halfe yeare pay in Master Standleys time wee therefore have petitioned for this small portion Three or Four Severall times and he hath promised and never p[er]formed and wee have had orders granted out vpon severall petitions that we should have the money paid vs and yet we are without it the pentione[rs] are in great neede and necessity full of imp[er]fections as lame and blinde Therefore we humbly beseech and desire your good worshipps to take this into serious Consideration that we may have those areares which are due to vs which Master Standley and Thomas Deine have severall times promised to vs but yet have not full filled theire promisse also wee expect that we should have our charges made vp which we have beene at in makeinge petitio[n] and in travellinge and wee your poore petitioner shall ever pray 1658
