The petition of the war widows of Wybunbury, Cheshire, Michaelmas 1660

To the Honerabl[e] and Right Worshipfull att this present Assessions the humble pet[i]t[ion] of Elizabeth Lindopp widdow, Margreat Perrin Joane Hoole & Judeth Hampton widdow, Inhabittants of the towneshipe of Wibunbury &c
Humbly sheweth yt your poore pet[i]t[ioner] being most of them very aged and decrepid, and in poore and meane Condition haueing little subsistence butt what must p[ro]cede from the Charrittye of well disposed neighbors most of them: haueing formerly obtained orders from former Assessions to be entered in the Role as pensioners, and haue sithence receiued the same accordingly: And it being indeed all the liuelyhood some of them haue:
They most humbly pray this Honer[a]bl[e] Court will still please to Continue yo[u]r s[ai]d poore Pet[i]t[ioner] as Pensioners to receiue the same as formerly and the s[ai]d poore widows and Fatherless Children will haue Cause to blesse god for you and to pray for yo[u]r Hon[our]s happinesse long to Continue And yt God yt hath p[ro]mised to heare the prayers of such will be your rewardes.
Theese poore widdowes Conditions being very deplorable & such as is here truely laide downe, wee haue made bould vpon theire request to subscribe the same & to become suplicants to this Hon[oura]bl[e] Bench in theire behalfe.
