The petition of the maimed soldiers and war widows of Cheshire, Trinity 1652

To the right wor[shi]p[fu]ll the Justic[e]s of the Peace in this Countie
The humble pitic[i]on of John Sydbothom & others of the maimed souldiers in this Countie whose names are subscribed.
<Sheweth>
That wheras yo[u]r poore pititionors haue formerly been by you alowed to be penc[i]onors by you the Justic[e]s of the peace, haue received but litle moneys for o[u]r pay till of late since Mr Hulton Came to be deputie tresurer whoe hath taken a great deale of care and paynes to procure vs o[u]r pay according to order and heareing that he should be remooved from the place & some other put in his roome, and we hauing soe good experience of his fathfulnes in his place.
Therefore o[u]r humble request is that if it may seeme good vnto you, that [illegible] you would be pleased to Continew hime still in his place, whom we beleeue will be, (as formerly in his place he hath been) Carfull to procure o[u]r pay in time. And w[e] shall ever pray &c
