The humble petic[i]on of Susan North
In all humble manner sheweth That your Wor[shi]ps poore petic[i]oners husband was prest for a souldier (out of the p[ar]ishe of Ringwold in the County of Kent) for the States service vnder the command of Captaine Morgan in Collonell Lees Regiment about two yeares since for Ireland where he was twice wounded and pr[e]sently after dyed in the Towne of Casteele in Ireland aforesaid as by two certificates w[hi]ch yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps petic[i]oner hath to shew more plainly appeereth. Now yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps petic[i]oner being a lame woman and not able to take any course for her liuelyhood haueing sold & paund such things w[hi]ch he shee had for maintenance, is therefore constrained to become an humble sutor vnto yo[u]r Wor[shi]ps beseeching you so farre to commiserate her so sadd & deplored condic[i]on as to grant her some yearly meanes or some pr[e]sent reliefe whereby shee may by her carefull indeavour raise a liuelyhood.
