The petition of six maimed soldiers, Denbighshire, 9 January 1683

To the Right hon[oura]ble his Ma[jes]tyes Justices of the peace of the County of Denbigh

The humble peticions of Hugh ap Richard of Esclusham, Nicholas ap Robert of the same, Richard Edwards, Roger Rogers of the p[ar]ish of Bangor, Thomas Edwards of Wrexham Regis, Robert Prudderch of Wrexham Abbot.

Sheweth vnto yo[u]r honors yo[u]r pet[itione]rs being maymed soldiers & for seuerall yeares haue had their pay, vntill ab[ou]t 3 yeares last Mr Prichard the Clarke of the peace for this County was turned out from being Treasurer & ever sence yo[u]r petic[i]oners haue not receaued one peny tho’ for att least from the tyme since the Kings most happy restorac[i]on they haue been in the list of maimed soldiers,
Wherefore may it please yo[u]r Wor[shi]pps (yo[u]r pet[itione]rs being reduced to extreame poverty for want of their usuall allowance) to take such course therein as that yo[u]r poor pet[itione]rs may haue subsistence & yo[u]r pet[itione]rs shall ever pray &c.
